ENTECH is specialized in Spunbond products and in the way to obtain them through different Extrusion Technologies. Special focus on Nonwovens for Roofing Spunbond (membranes supports), Geotextiles and SMS/SMMS.
The typical process to obtain Polyester (PET) Roofing Spunbond is carried out as per the following in-line steps:
- Loading and storing of the polymer
- Crystallizing and drying or Vacuum extrusion
- Polymer extrusion and melt filtration
- Spinning into filaments
- Filaments cooling and stretching
- Filaments distribution and web formation
- Web transfer by conveyor belt
- Web bonding by needling (mechanical bonding)
- Thermosetting and calibration
- Binder-impregnation
- Drying and binder polymerization
- Surface finishing and calibration
- Accumulation
- Slitting and winding
The process to obtain Polypropylene (PP) and Bi-co products (typically geotextiles) is carried out as per the following in-line steps:
- Loading and storing of the polymer
- Polymer extrusion and melt filtration
- Spinning into filaments
- Filaments cooling and stretching
- Filaments distribution and web formation
- Web transfer by conveyor belt
- Web bonding by needling (mechanical bonding)
- Thermosetting and surface finishing, calibration
- Accumulation
- Slitting and winding
The process involves different melt-viscosity polymers, mostly Polyester and Polypropylene which are commonly used for the production of Spunbond products by melt-spinning. Sometimes the production of Spunbond articles needs several polymers. For example, a lower temperature melting polymer can be the binder that represents a separate fiber interspersed among the higher temperature melting fibers. In other cases, a single fiber type can be composed by two polymers that are combined during the extrusion (co-extrusion): they are bi-component fibers characterized by a component melting at lower temperature.
In addition to the Roofing Spunbond waterproof membranes for the buildings, the products of the Spunbond Plant have a lot of different applications, for example: geotextiles for landfills, railways, tunnels, civil engineering, hydraulic works roads, airports and so on. Spunbond products can also be used in carpet backing and disposable medical products (Hygiene).
