Melt Blown Nonwoven fabrics, similar to Spunbond fabrics, obtained by continuous filaments extruded polymers through special spinnerets. Basic characteristics of the Melt Blown fabrics are: softness, elasticity, wettability, chemical resistance of formed fibers and many other related properties, too.
Melt Blown microfibers generally have diameters in the range of 2 to 4 µm, although they may be as small as 0.1 µm and as large as 10 to 15 µm. It is one of the most recent and innovative nonwoven processes, and it is usually used for the production of microfibers. Degree of opacity, cover, softness and porosity are the main differences between traditional nonwoven articles and melt blown nonwoven articles.
